Terms of Service

Last updated August 12, 2026

These terms govern your use of rdSQL Desktop (the application) and rdsql.com (the website, account, sync, and billing services). By downloading the app, creating an account, or using this site, you agree to these terms.

The software

rdSQL Desktop is open source, released under the MIT License. You may use, modify, and redistribute it under that license’s terms. A community build works fully offline with no account required; creating an account is only needed for cross-device sync and Pro features.

Accounts

You’re responsible for the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us if you suspect unauthorized access. You must provide a valid email address you control.

Cloud sync

Sync is opt-in. Connection credentials are end-to-end encrypted on your device before syncing — we cannot read them, which also means we cannot recover them for you if you lose access to every device holding your local encryption key. Non-sensitive metadata (connection names, hosts, engines) syncs as plain data.

Subscriptions & billing

Pro is available as a monthly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, billed through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled from your account’s billing portal. The Community edition remains free indefinitely and isn’t affected by billing status. If you believe you were charged in error, contact billing@rdsql.com.

Acceptable use

Don’t use rdSQL to access data or systems you’re not authorized to access, to abuse or overload the service, or to circumvent rate limits or security controls. We may suspend accounts involved in abuse.

Disclaimer of warranty

The software and services are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. You’re responsible for backing up your own data and databases — rdSQL is a client tool, not a backup service.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, rdSQL is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the software or services, including data loss.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time by contacting privacy@rdsql.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Changes

We’ll update the date at the top of this page when these terms change.
